Birds of Prey

The Birds of Prey experience offers a uniquely Kangaroo Island animal encounter perfect for all the family.

Marvel at the natural hunting abilities of the beautiful and spectacular Birds of Prey during their free-flight demonstration and display.

This interactive presentation gives visitors of all ages and nationalities an understanding and appreciation of Birds of Prey and their role in the environment. Many of the birds were orphaned and have been hand-raised and they now play a very important role as ambassadors for their species.

See Jedda, the majestic Wedge-Tailed Eagle; Selena, the beautiful White-Bellied Sea Eagle; Banjo and Clancy, the laughing Kookaburras; Spook the Barn Owl - a favourite with children. An educational and entertaining experience! A must do on your visit to Kangaroo Island.

Kangaroo Island Penguin Centre

The Kangaroo Island Penguin Centre provides tours of Kingscote’s little penguin colony, a penguin interpretive centre and saltwater aquariums containing a variety of sea creatures from Kangaroo Island's waters. A large star chart explains some of the constellations in the night sky that you may see while on tour in the penguin colony.

Penguin tours begin in the Centre with guides feeding some of the sea creatures. Moving outside, visitors take a torch lit walk around the foreshore through Kingscote's little penguin colony. Each tour takes about one hour and it is recommended you bring warm clothes or a windbreaker jacket and wear closed, sturdy shoes to walk through the colony.

Pelican feeding is also available daily at 5pm at the water’s edge behind the Centre, near the small Fisherman's Jetty. The Centre’s retail area contains souvenirs and Kangaroo Island products.
